There are certain guitar solos that seem to be rights of passage for guitar players. The solos Don Felder and Joe Walsh play in Hotel CA are both these types of solos. They epitomize phrasing feel and musicality and have constantly been taught, analyzed, and transcribed over the years. Here’s my take on the Joe Walsh solo.
